Round Rock, Texas – Adam MacLean, 50, a resident of Round Rock, Texas, tragically lost his life on January 7, 2025, following an officer-involved shooting.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m. when a 911 call reported an erratic driver who had crashed on Westinghouse Road near Texas Crushed Stone.
After the crash, MacLean fled into a nearby wooded area, where he was later located with the help of drones.
During the confrontation, MacLean reportedly opened fire on the drones and officers present.
A Round Rock Police Officer, identified as SWAT Officer Nathan Sosa, responded to the threat, and during the exchange of gunfire, MacLean was struck.
Authorities later confirmed that MacLean had also sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, though no officers were injured during the tragic event.
The Texas Rangers, in collaboration with the Round Rock Police Department, are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
A statement released by the Round Rock Police Department confirmed that Officer Sosa, who has been with the force since 2020, has been placed on administrative leave pending the investigation.
