Arthur Blessitt, Denver, Colorado

Denver, Colorado – Arthur Blessitt, a celebrated Christian evangelist and global pilgrim, passed away on January 14, 2025, at the age of 84.

Blessitt was best known for his remarkable journey of faith, which included carrying a cross through every nation of the world, a feat that earned him a place in the Guinness World Records.

Born in 1940 in Greenville, Mississippi, he dedicated his life to spreading the message of Christianity, beginning his ministry at the age of 20.

In the 1960s, Blessitt became a familiar figure in Hollywood, where he founded a coffee house ministry, "His Place," and earned the nickname "Minister of Sunset Strip."

Over the course of his extraordinary life, Blessitt walked more than 43,000 miles, carrying a 12-foot cross through 324 countries and territories.

His physical and spiritual journey left a profound impact on countless lives.

He is survived by his wife, Denise, their seven children, twelve grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter, as well as his sister, Virginia.

Blessitt’s legacy as a pioneering evangelist and his unwavering commitment to faith will continue to inspire future generations.
