Lexington, South Carolina – The Lexington community is mourning the sudden passing of Brandi “Bo” Owensby, a beloved teacher at White Knoll High School (WKHS) in Lexington School District 1.

Owensby, who was known for her immense passion for teaching and her unwavering commitment to her students, passed away on January 13, 2025.

Her loss has left a profound void among students, colleagues, and loved ones alike.

As a teacher in the WKHS Theatre Department, Owensby had a lasting impact on the lives of many, inspiring students to find their voices and express themselves creatively.

Her dedication and positivity made her more than just an educator; she was a mentor, a mother figure, and a trusted friend to many.

Former student Elizabeth Braun shared, "Bo was like a mother to me… she made me feel welcome and accepted during a time when I felt lost and alone."
