Pensacola, Florida – Charity Hicks and her mother, Valerie Hicks, tragically lost their lives on January 23, 2025, in a devastating three-vehicle collision in Escambia County.
The incident occurred around midday on Highway 97 in Walnut Hill, near North Highway 99.
The accident involved two cars and a red pickup truck, which flipped onto its roof.
The driver of the pickup truck was transported to the hospital under trauma alert, though their condition remains unknown.
Another car in the crash veered off the road and struck a ditch, with the driver fortunately not suffering significant injuries.
However, the most heart-wrenching aspect of the incident was when a passenger car swerved off the road and collided with a large fence post.
Both of the car’s passengers, Charity and Valerie Hicks, were declared dead at the scene.
The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the cause of the crash, but no further details have been released at this time.
Traffic in the area was disrupted as emergency personnel responded to the scene.
The community is left in mourning as they remember Charity and Valerie, who will be deeply missed.
