West Greenwich, Rhode Island – Danielle Arruda, a beloved mother and dedicated professional, tragically passed away along with her two young children in an apparent murder-suicide at their home in West Greenwich.
The discovery was made on Friday, January 3, 2025, when West Greenwich police responded to a welfare check at 15 Cheyenne Trail at approximately 10:30 a.m.
The call was prompted after a coworker expressed concern, noting that Danielle had not reported to work for several days.
Upon arrival, officers forced entry into the residence and found the bodies of Danielle, her two children—aged five and two—and her unborn child, all of whom had suffered gunshot wounds.
Danielle, who was pregnant at the time of her death, was an escrow officer for the Marinosci Law Group in West Greenwich and had a history of working in real estate.
She was married and lived with her family at the property, which was valued at $385,000.
The community is now reeling from the devastating loss of this vibrant mother and her children.
“Our hearts go out to the Arruda family during this unimaginable time,” wrote one local resident on social media.
The investigation is ongoing, with both the West Greenwich Police Department and Rhode Island State Police working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.
