Johannesburg, South Africa – Dr. Vicky Jennings, a distinguished trauma surgeon and clinical lead at Milpark Hospital, tragically passed away in March 2024 due to a sudden heart attack.
Dr. Jennings was widely respected for her unwavering commitment to both her patients and the medical community.
As the Deputy Head of Trauma at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, she played a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of medical professionals through her work as an educator and mentor.
Her colleagues remembered her for her tireless devotion, often working late hours and weekends to provide the best care for her patients, regardless of the personal sacrifices she made.

Dr. Jennings completed her medical education at the University of Pretoria and later specialized in Trauma Surgery at the University of the Witwatersrand.

Her contributions to the field were recognized globally, and in 2023, she received the prestigious International Fellowship of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma.
