Honolulu, Hawaii – Dr. Gregorio Maldini, a respected surgeon at Straub Medical Center, tragically passed away on January 10, 2025, after succumbing to injuries from a motorcycle accident.

The incident occurred on January 8, 2025, around 9:41 a.m. on Ala Wai Boulevard at the McCully Street intersection in Waikiki. Dr. Maldini, 59, was riding westbound when a 53-year-old sedan driver, also heading west, attempted to change lanes and collided with the motorcyclist.

In an outpouring of support, friends and colleagues have shared tributes to the late physician. "Dr. Maldini was a kind and caring individual who impacted so many lives. He will be deeply missed," wrote one colleague on social media.
