Jamarco Dye, Bowling Green, Kentucky

Bowling Green, Kentucky – Jamarco Dye, a 16-year-old male, tragically lost his life early Sunday morning in a shooting at an apartment complex in Bowling Green.

At approximately 1:48 AM on January 25, 2025, the Bowling Green Police Department responded to a shots fired call at 110 Audley Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered Dye’s body in the backyard of the residence, with multiple gunshot wounds.

The shooting was reportedly linked to an incident where 22-year-old Tylan J. Barnett, who was at the apartment complex, claimed to have seen two individuals outside. Believing them to be involved in an earlier break-in attempt, Barnett went outside with a firearm and fired at one of the individuals running from the scene. The tragic outcome was the death of Jamarco Dye.

Barnett has since been charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence and is currently held at the Warren County Regional Jail. The investigation is ongoing.

Social media posts have flooded with condolences for the young victim. One user expressed, “Rest in peace Jamarco, my heart goes out to your family,” while another commented, “This is a senseless tragedy.”

Jamarco’s family has yet to announce memorial details, and they have requested privacy during this difficult time.
