Stapleton, Nebraska – The Stapleton community is mourning the sudden loss of Jeremiah Johnson, the beloved Athletic Director at Stapleton Public Schools, who passed away on January 23, 2025.
Jeremiah’s passing has left an indelible void in the lives of his family, colleagues, and the students he served.
He was widely recognized for his passion, integrity, and commitment to fostering both athletic and personal growth among students.
As Athletic Director, he made significant contributions to the school’s sports programs, shaping young athletes not only through competition but also by teaching them valuable life lessons of teamwork, perseverance, and character.
A colleague shared, "Jeremiah wasn’t just a coach or a director—he was a mentor, a role model, and a friend."
His leadership and dedication to education and sports transformed the athletic culture at Stapleton Public Schools.
In honor of his memory, the school district plans to establish a scholarship fund in his name to support future student-athletes pursuing higher education.
