Jesse Hayes, Huntington Beach, California

Huntington Beach, California – Jesse Hayes, a beloved student and gifted musician, tragically passed away on January 22, 2025, following a devastating accident on October 28, 2024.

The young man, who had a reputation for his kindness and generosity, was struck by a car while riding his bike. Despite taking every precaution – wearing a helmet and riding in a designated bike lane – the accident occurred due to a mistake made by the driver.

In the days that followed, Jesse fought for his life, enduring severe injuries including a Diffused Axonal Brain Injury, a form of brain trauma that often leads to long-term complications. For 42 days, Jesse remained on life support as doctors and his family clung to hope for his recovery.

As his condition stabilized enough to leave the ICU, doctors suggested a nursing home placement, but Jesse’s family remained hopeful, refusing to give up on his recovery. Their faith and prayers seemed to work miracles, as Jesse began to speak and take steps with the help of physical therapy.

The news of his passing has deeply saddened his community. Friends, family, and teachers have shared messages of love and condolences, highlighting Jesse’s kind and loving nature.

“He was a bright light in all our lives, and he will be greatly missed,” said one close friend on social media.
