Delaware – Joe McCarthy, a cherished husband, brother, friend, and longtime member of the community, passed away on January 18, 2025, leaving a deep void in the hearts of those who knew him.
A dedicated Mobile Automotive Technician at Elitek Vehicle Services, Joe was known for his technical expertise, honesty, and unwavering commitment to helping others. His colleagues at Elitek fondly remember him for always going above and beyond to ensure that customers received the best possible service.
Joe’s career in service extended beyond his work in the automotive field. He had previously served as a retired adult daycare facilitator and a firefighter with the Lewes Fire Department. His kindness and compassionate nature made a lasting impact on everyone he interacted with. Born and raised in Georgetown, Delaware, Joe made Milford his home, where he formed lasting relationships with those in his community.
“Joe was the kindest person I’ve ever met,” said his close friend Andrew Cassidy. “He would drop everything to help a friend in need.”
Joe is survived by his wife, Meghan McCarthy, his parents, siblings, and many friends who will miss him dearly. His legacy of kindness and service will live on in the memories of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
