Kayla Elliott, Medora, Indiana

Medora, Indiana – Kayla Elliott, a cherished daughter, sister, and community advocate, passed away unexpectedly on January 20, 2025, at the age of 32.

Her sudden passing has left a profound void in the Medora community, where she was known for her kindness, dedication, and boundless optimism.

Kayla was born on March 15, 1992, in Seymour, Indiana, to John and Mary Elliott. From a young age, she was known for her compassion and desire to help others, qualities she carried throughout her life.

She graduated from Medora High School in 2010, where she was involved in various extracurricular activities including the school’s choir and drama productions.

After earning her degree in social work from Indiana University, Kayla returned to Medora, where she devoted herself to supporting at-risk youth and families.

Her work was more than a job; it was a calling. She was praised for her tireless efforts and deep empathy, especially in her advocacy for children’s well-being.

Kayla’s love for animals and nature were central to her life, and she found joy in spending time outdoors and caring for rescue pets.

She is survived by her parents, John and Mary, her brother Jacob, her grandmother, and many extended family members and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held on January 23, 2025, at Medora United Methodist Church, with visitation from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service.

Kayla’s legacy of love, compassion, and selflessness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
