Auburn, Massachusetts – Marcus Lapointe, a 23-year-old resident of Auburn, Massachusetts, tragically lost his life in a fatal car accident on Vermont Route 9, Windham County, on Monday morning, January 13, 2025.
According to Vermont State Police, the collision occurred shortly after 6 a.m. when Lapointe’s sedan collided with a Jeep near MacArthur Road. The impact caused severe damage to Lapointe’s vehicle, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Jeep, a resident of Jacksonville, Vermont, along with his passenger, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Emergency responders and Vermont State Police worked diligently at the scene, and the road was closed for several hours before reopening. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, with wet road conditions at the time of the crash possibly playing a role.
