Fremont, California – Pastor Paul E. Sheppard, the senior pastor of Destiny Christian Fellowship in Fremont, CA, has passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
The Sheppard family confirmed his sudden death in a heartfelt statement released by his wife, Meredith Sheppard, and their family.
“With heavy hearts, we share the transition of my husband and our beloved pastor, Pastor Paul E. Sheppard, who entered into rest on Saturday, January 25, 2025,” the statement read.
Pastor Sheppard, who had been in pastoral ministry since 1982, led Destiny Christian Fellowship since 2009, making a significant impact on his congregation and the community.
Before his tenure at Destiny Christian Fellowship, he served as the senior pastor of Abundant Life Christian Fellowship in Mountain View, CA, from 1989 to 2009.
In addition to his pastoral work, Pastor Sheppard was a published author and hosted the popular podcast Destined for Victory.
He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, the Center for Urban Theological Studies, and earned a Master’s in Ministry from the Southern California School of Ministry.
Pastor Sheppard is survived by his wife, Meredith, and their two children, Alicia Greer and Aaron Sheppard.
His death has left a profound impact on his congregation, with many members sharing tributes to his legacy.
“Pastor Paul preached the Word like no one else. My last few visits were truly memorable,” one congregant shared.
