Glastonbury, Connecticut – Phillip Burleson, a 61-year-old resident of Glastonbury, tragically passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Glastonbury Boulevard near the Shops at Somerset Square.
According to Lt. Kevin Szydlo, the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. when Burleson was walking with other pedestrians. He was hit by a westbound vehicle and immediately transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with authorities as the investigation into the incident continues. Police have urged any witnesses to come forward and contact Officer Sergey Sharov at 860-652-4286 with additional information.
The community has expressed their heartfelt condolences on social media, with many remembering Phillip as a kind and beloved member of the Glastonbury area.
