Lenexa, Kansas – Tsige G. Mesfin, a 48-year-old woman from Shawnee, tragically passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, following a suspected DUI crash in Lenexa.
Authorities confirmed that Mesfin was fatally injured when a Ford Bronco, traveling east on West 89th Terrace, ran a stop sign and collided with her Toyota RAV4. The crash occurred around 11:10 p.m. near Park Street.
Despite the arrival of officers at the scene, Mesfin was declared dead at the crash site.
The driver of the Bronco, 46-year-old Amy Dawn Crouch from Lenexa, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. The Johnson County District Attorney’s Office has since charged Crouch with second-degree murder.
Lenexa’s Traffic Safety Unit continues to investigate the incident. Mesfin’s family and friends are mourning her loss, and memorial service details will be announced later.
