Daniel W, Berlin — The community is mourning the loss of Daniel W, who passed away recently at the age of 36. Daniel was a beloved husband, stepfather, and friend, known for his joyful spirit, willingness to help, and passion for Vikings and anime.
Daniel’s wife, Julia, and their two daughters, along with their newborn child, are deeply affected by his sudden passing. Daniel was a devoted family man, treating Julia’s daughters as his own and eagerly awaiting the birth of their own child, who was born on April 11th this year. Sadly, their youngest will only know him through stories and pictures.
Daniel’s health began to decline with severe coughing and fainting spells, which led to multiple hospital visits. Eventually, he was diagnosed with a 6.1 cm aortic aneurysm, requiring immediate surgery on June 24th. The surgery initially seemed successful, and Daniel was moved to a regular ward with plans for discharge and rehabilitation. Tragically, he passed away unexpectedly on July 1st, shattering the hopes of his family and friends.
A fundraiser organized by Kim Tabea Renken has been launched to help cover funeral expenses and support the family financially. So far, €1,095 has been raised out of the €10,000 goal, with contributions from generous donors like Maria Mandelkow, who donated €20, an anonymous donor who contributed €150, and Anne Holzhüter, who made the first donation of €100.
Daniel’s memory will live on through the love he shared and the joy he brought to those around him. His family and friends will cherish the moments they had with him, finding comfort in the legacy he left behind.
