Jimmy Kelley, Decatur, AL — The community is deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of Jimmy Kelley, who passed away on July 3, 2024, at the age of 38. Jimmy was a cherished nephew, remembered for his vibrant spirit, unique humor, and witty personality. He passed away peacefully in his sleep.
His aunt, Libby Boggess, expressed the family’s grief and requested prayers for her sister, Jill, who has faced immense challenges, having lost her husband, Jim Kelley, last year on July 31. "My nephew Jimmy Kelley passed this morning at 9:30. He passed in his sleep. Please pray for Jill, my sister. We will post a GoFundMe page. She needs help to cremate Jimmy. Please help us; anything will help! Prayers are needed, we are heartbroken," shared Libby.
A fundraiser has been organized by Holly Casteel to help cover the cremation expenses, as Jimmy wished to be cremated without a funeral service. So far, $100 has been raised out of the $3,200 goal, with the first donation coming from Alexis Hill.
The community has shown overwhelming support and condolences through heartfelt messages on Facebook. Suzy Miller expressed her willingness to assist with the GoFundMe once it’s up, while Rebecca Ann Laymon, Cindy Lewis Crowell, and many others extended their prayers and condolences.
Libby Boggess also mentioned the tough times her sister Jill has endured, losing her husband just a year ago. "Her husband Jim Kelley died last year on July 31. She has had it rough. God is good, please pray for our comfort," she added.
Jimmy’s memory will be cherished by those who knew and loved him. The community’s support during this difficult time is a testament to the impact he had on everyone around him.
