Michael Hargrove, Mt View, Hawai’i — The community is mourning the loss of Michael Hargrove, who passed away on June 15, 2024, at 2:40 am. He was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s Dementia in 2019, and his disease progressed rapidly after relocating to Mt View, Hawai’i in 2022. Michael’s family, including his wife Jadine and their children, were his full-time caregivers, providing love and support during his difficult journey.
Jadine and her daughter became Michael’s primary caregivers, and they relied on his benefits as their main source of income. With Michael’s passing, the family is now facing financial hardship, having lost their primary income source. They had just moved into a new home, hoping for a fresh start, but now Jadine must manage all responsibilities alone.
A fundraiser organized by Janina Spencer on behalf of Jadine has been launched to support the family during this challenging time. The goal is to raise $5,000, and so far, $425 has been raised from generous donors like Brenda Reynoso, Lois Toyama, Linda Ruis, and Uncle Cody & Aunty Shiryl Richards.
The community has expressed their condolences and support through touching Facebook posts. Jamaine Spencer shared, "I come here today for some love & support for my Sister Jadine Hargrove & her ohana." Kanani K Pahi’o added, "That’s so heartbreaking. I’m so sorry for your Ohana’s loss. Sending you all love & prayers."
Michael’s memory will live on through the joy and happiness he brought to his family. He will be missed dearly by his wife, children, and all who knew him.
