Abdullah Sahebzada, Sunnyvale, CA— Abdullah Sahebzada, a 52-year-old Afghan refugee, passed away on November 18, 2024, after battling stage 4 stomach cancer. His untimely death leaves behind his wife and five children, who are now facing the immense challenge of rebuilding their lives without him. Abdullah’s passing follows a brief but heartbreaking journey after his arrival in the United States.
For over 30 years, Abdullah was dedicated to the cinema industry in Kabul, using his talents to bring joy and raise awareness in a land marked by struggle. Despite the hardships he faced, Abdullah dreamed of a brighter future for his family. After years of waiting, his refugee case was approved, and he, along with his family, made the journey to Sunnyvale, California, in September 2024.
Sadly, shortly after arriving in the U.S., Abdullah received the devastating diagnosis of terminal cancer. What was meant to be the beginning of a hopeful new chapter turned into a rapid decline, and after several weeks of hospitalization, he passed away. His family, new to the country and without a support system, now faces an uncertain future.
