Known as a dedicated art educator and award-winning teacher, her passing has left the community and countless former students in deep mourning. Amy was a mother, sister, and friend, whose presence profoundly touched many lives.
Sam Wartenbee shared a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, reflecting on Amy’s encouragement during his youth: “RIP to one of the most important people in my young life and education, Amy Samson. I just heard the news from a friend, whose daughter attends her class at my old school. Amy encouraged me as a young writer with a dark sense of humor, and we kept in touch (on and off) ever since.”
