Armen G. Der Torossian, South San Francisco, CA— Armen G. Der Torossian, a well-known and loved member of the Armenian community, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 87. His death occurred just 10 days after his birthday and 13 days following the anniversary of his marriage to his late wife, Asdghig, who passed away in 2021.
Armen was a cherished husband, father, and community leader. He was widely recognized for his contributions to the community, having owned and operated Armen Jeweler’s and Uncle Z’a Deli in downtown San Francisco. Throughout his life, Armen devoted much of his free time to helping the Armenian community, often working late into the night and leaving early in the morning to fulfill his commitments.
His daughter, Maral Der-Torossian, has organized a fundraiser to help with memorial expenses, reflecting the community’s deep affection for Armen. The fundraiser’s goal is set at $6,000, and donations are already being accepted. Armen’s passing has left a significant void, and he will be greatly missed by his four children and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Our hearts go out to the family during this difficult time. May Armen’s legacy of love and service continue to inspire.
