Arthur Willie, Fitchburg, MA— It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Arthur Willie, a beloved member of the Fitchburg community. His family was recently informed of his severe diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer. Despite the family’s hope and strength, the illness rapidly progressed, and this morning, Arthur Willie passed away surrounded by loved ones.
Arthur Willie was known for his warm personality, love for family gatherings, and his fondness for soul food. His presence lit up any room, and he was always greeted with love by those around him. Arthur leaves behind a daughter, four grandchildren, two sisters, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A fundraiser organized by his granddaughter, Khadijah Choate, is currently underway to support the costs of Arthur’s burial arrangements. Donations are greatly appreciated during this difficult time, with contributions already made by Khadijah Butkiewicz, Megan Normandin, and Judy Choate, among others. The family deeply thanks everyone who has offered support.
