Ashley Smith passed away at the age of 39 on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Born in Putnam, CT, Ashley was a vibrant, intelligent, and compassionate individual who touched many lives. Her untimely passing has left her family and friends deeply saddened.
Ashley was the daughter of Betty J. Lucier-Mayo and the late Ronald Webster. She was a graduate of Woodstock Academy, earned her associate’s degree from Quinebaug Valley Community College, and attended nursing school in Saint Kitts. Ashley dedicated her life to helping others, having been a member of the Putnam EMS, American Medical Response of West Hartford, and the Bungay Brigade and Ambulance.
Known for her love of reading, angels, and her devotion to family, Ashley will be remembered for her kindness and generosity. Her passing has left a void in the lives of all who knew her.
A fundraiser titled “Supporting Ashley’s Legacy with Love and Care,” organized by Brenda Vivlamore, who is a close friend of Ashley’s mother, has been set up to support the family during this difficult time. Friends and family are encouraged to donate and show their support as the family navigates this tremendous loss.
