Assia Sefiane, San Leandro, CA— The community is deeply saddened by the passing of Assia Sefiane, who left us on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at approximately 9:00 PM. Assia was 65 years old and leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion as a mother to her two daughters and one son.
In response to her passing, Abdelkader Khelifa has organized a fundraiser to support the burial costs. As of today, $1,010 has been raised out of the $12,000 goal, with contributions from eight generous donors. The community has come together to offer financial support in this difficult time, demonstrating the love and respect they have for Assia and her family.
Funeral prayers (Salat al Janazah) are scheduled to take place tomorrow, Friday, August 23, 2024, at 1:30 PM at the Muslim Community Association (MCA), located at 3003 Scott Blvd., Santa Clara, CA. The burial will follow at 3:00 PM at 5 Pillars Cemetery, 1761 Laughlin Road, Livermore, CA. An Azaa (mourning gathering) will be held at 8:30 PM, after Salat Al-Maghreb, at the Oakland Islamic Center, 515-31st Street, Oakland, CA.
