Auntie Lisa, Duluth, MN—The Duluth community is mourning the loss of Auntie Lisa, who passed away on July 23, 2023. Known for her kind heart and dedication to helping others, Auntie Lisa was a beloved figure in the community. She spent years as a daycare provider and Girl Scouts leader in West Duluth, touching the lives of many children and families.
Auntie Lisa left behind three children and six grandchildren, all of whom are currently facing financial challenges. The family had planned to hold her funeral last year, but due to unexpected financial difficulties, including house and car repairs, they were unable to do so. They now hope to give her a proper funeral on September 14th, a date significant to the family as it is the same day they held funerals for Auntie Lisa’s identical twin sister, who passed away in 2020.
A fundraiser organized by Kimberly Wicklund has been set up to help cover the costs of Auntie Lisa’s memorial and funeral. The goal is to raise $4,000, which will not only cover the funeral expenses but also allow the family to replenish the grandchildren’s college funds, which were used to cover initial expenses after Auntie Lisa’s passing. As of now, $140 has been raised through three donations.
Auntie Lisa was a resilient woman, having beaten cancer and other health challenges throughout her life. Despite her strength, she ultimately succumbed to her struggles. Her family is determined to honor her memory with the funeral she deserves and to support her grandchildren in their future endeavors.
We extend our deepest condolences to Auntie Lisa’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
