Avni Elkat, Westfield, TX—The Elkat family is grieving the loss of their beloved Avni Elkat, who passed away after a difficult and prolonged medical battle. Avni, who had been in a coma for eight months following an incident with a drunk driver on January 27, 2024, was kept on life support until September 10, 2024, when he finally passed, leaving his family devastated.

For eight months, Avni’s family held onto hope, praying for his recovery. Unfortunately, despite their hopes and the tireless efforts of the medical professionals, Avni never regained consciousness. The loss has hit the family hard, not only emotionally but also financially, as they now face significant legal fees.

A fundraiser has been organized by Avni’s eldest son, Koray Elkat, to help alleviate the financial strain on the family. As of now, the campaign has raised $260 out of its $15,000 goal, with two generous donors contributing: Burak Tokac with $10 and an anonymous supporter giving $250.
