Barry Duffy, Derry—The community of Derry mourns the loss of Barry Duffy, who passed away last year, leaving behind a legacy that continues to touch the hearts of many. To honor Barry’s memory, his lifelong friend Rodney Dalzell has organized a fundraiser titled "Barry’s Xmas Blessing." This initiative aims to support families in the Creggan community during the Christmas and New Year period. The fundraiser seeks to raise £2,000, of which £400 has already been donated by generous supporters. Among the contributors, Deirdre McGeoghegan has donated £100, while two anonymous donors have contributed £200 and £100 respectively.

Last year, in memory of Barry, the first "Barry’s Blessing" was bestowed upon a family in need, providing essential support such as electricity, heating, food, and toys during the holiday season. This year, Rodney hopes to extend this blessing to multiple families in the community, helping to alleviate some of the pressures and stress that come with the festive season.
