The circumstances surrounding Basil’s death have added layers of pain, as the family seeks answers and justice. Basil tragically fell from a five-story height, and the events following the incident, including the unauthorized autopsy and public display of the scene, have left lasting emotional scars on their loved ones.

Joshua Brown has now set up a fundraiser titled "Help Honor Basil Brown’s Memory and Seek Justice" to assist with legal battles, including a lawsuit to secure his share of the ashes and have them interred in a religious ceremony.
