Bertha Patricia Garcia Morantes, San José del Cabo, BCS— The community is mourning the unexpected passing of Bertha Patricia Garcia Morantes, who passed away last week at the age of 33. Bertha, a cherished member of the community, fell ill suddenly with what seemed to be a common cold, but her condition worsened rapidly. Despite her efforts to fight, she was unable to overcome her illness.

Her passing has left her family in deep sorrow, particularly her two young daughters, a toddler and a 7-year-old, who now face life without their mother. The loss of Bertha has been especially devastating for her father, Enrique Garcia, a long-time valued staff member of Colonos de Rancho Cerro Colorado A.C., who has been supported by many in this time of grief.

In response to this tragic loss, a fundraiser has been set up by Allison Chock, the President of Colonos de Rancho Cerro Colorado A.C., to help support the Garcia family during this difficult time. The fundraiser aims to raise 100,000 MXN to assist with funeral expenses and to help provide for Bertha’s young children.

The community’s outpouring of support continues to show the deep impact Bertha had on those around her. Donations are being collected through GoFundMe, and the community is urged to contribute in any way they can to help the family during this challenging period.
