Brayan Rueda Toro, a cherished member of the Colombian community in Edmonton, AB, passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2024, at the age of 22. His sudden departure has deeply affected family, friends, and all who knew him.
Brayan, who had been in Canada for just over a year, was remembered for his positive attitude and infectious smile. His mother, Glenis Toro, and the rest of his family are now facing the heartbreaking task of sending him back to Colombia.
To support Brayan’s family, Danna Uribe organized a fundraiser with a goal of raising $35,000 CAD. So far, $310 has been collected through the kindness of individuals including Hernan and Jenny Soledad Orejarena, and Lizeth Orejarena.
