Cathy Herndon, Sardis, AR Community Mourns Loss of Beloved Neighbor

Cathy Herndon, Sardis, AR — Cathy Herndon, affectionately known as "Cat," passed away on December 6, 2024, at Baptist Hospital ICU. She had been battling severe health complications following a fall several weeks ago that left her paralyzed from the neck down and unable to breathe independently. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, the doctors confirmed that she would never regain the ability to breathe on her own, leading her family to make the heart-wrenching decision to let her go.

Cathy’s passing has left her husband, Cliff Herndon, devastated. The couple had been married for 36 years, and their deep bond was a source of strength for both. Cliff, now grappling with the loss of his wife and partner, is receiving support from the Sardis community, where Cathy and Cliff were well-loved for many years.

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been created by Ronda Black to help cover the costs of Cathy’s burial. The campaign aims to raise $1,600, and any contribution is deeply appreciated during this sorrowful time.
