Chad Stormer, Seattle, WA—Chad Stormer passed away last evening, leaving his family and community in deep mourning. Chad was fifty-seven years old, born on July 24, 1967, and passed away on August 23, 2024. He was cherished for his pure heart, loving smile, and the infectious laughter of a child.
Chad faced many challenges in his life, being a type 1 diabetic, living with a missing heart valve, and surviving cancer. He also had Asperger’s syndrome, which, according to his brother Riki Stormer, was more of a blessing, adding to Chad’s unique and loving personality.
Chad spent twenty years working at Burger King in Wisconsin before relocating to Seattle in his mid-thirties. In Seattle, he held various jobs through temporary services, including positions at Nintendo, Albertsons, Jet City Pizza, and Bellevue Parks and Recreation. He had a deep love for the city of Seattle and an even greater passion for music, especially for Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead.
The last decade was particularly challenging for Chad and his brother Riki, as they faced homelessness and lived out of vehicles and motels. Despite these hardships, Chad’s spirit remained unbroken, and his love for life shone through.
To honor Chad’s memory, his brother Riki has started a fundraiser with the goal of raising $60,000 to support Chad’s burial. Riki wishes for Chad to be celebrated in a grand fashion, a celebration that Chad never had in his lifetime. The fundraiser seeks to pay tribute to Chad’s life and his enduring spirit.
Our hearts go out to the Stormer family during this difficult time. We send our deepest condolences and prayers to Chad’s family and friends.
