Friend and colleague Andy Dickins also paid tribute on Facebook, saying, "You will never know what you meant to us mate. Hopefully I end up in the same place you have gone, and we can grab a beer and talk about all the great times we had, until then sail in peace, my friend."

Chad’s involvement with Southport Indoor Pistol Club also stood out, where he was more than just a member. He played a significant role as a Range Officer and volunteered extensively, helping coach new members.
