Chareesh Kenche, Las Vegas, NV— Chareesh Kenche tragically passed away on November 13, 2024, following a sudden heart attack. He was a dedicated PhD student at the University of Las Vegas, Nevada, and had been looking forward to graduating in the summer of 2025. Chareesh was the first in his family to pursue a Doctorate and had big aspirations to open a university in India to help others achieve their dreams of higher education.
Chareesh was the only child of his parents, and his untimely passing has left his family in profound shock. His remains are currently under the care of a funeral home as arrangements are made to send his body for final rites in India. The family is facing significant expenses related to embalming, coffin, mortuary rent, documentation, autopsy, and cargo charges to transit the body back to India.
A fundraiser has been set up by Swetha Kalyanam to assist with these expenses and to support Chareesh’s family during this difficult time. The campaign has already raised $930, with generous contributions from friends and family.
The community has shown tremendous support, offering their condolences and prayers for the grieving family. Chareesh’s passing marks a great loss not only for his family but for the academic world, as he was set to make significant contributions to education in both the U.S. and India.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Chareesh’s family and loved ones. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this painful time.
