Skip was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, finding his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren. His career as a truck driver spanned 17 years with Land Star Transport, where he was recognized for driving over a million miles without a single accident or citation. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Skip served from 1979 to 1984 and continued in the reserves until his health declined. His commitment to his community extended beyond his professional and military service; he was also an active member of All Saints Anglican Church, known for his servant’s heart and willingness to help anyone in need.
Skip’s legacy is carried on by his wife of 26 years, Angelia Russell, his daughters Elizabeth Lewis and Kara Russell, and his beloved grandchildren Emma, Lillymae, Zachary, and Lyani. He is also survived by his sister Cheryl Covey, brothers James, Richard, and Robert Russell, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
