Charlotte was a devoted mother and a cherished member of her family, known for her unwavering dedication to caring for her loved ones. Her life was marked by her selfless love and commitment, first to her six younger sisters and later to her own children.
Charlotte had been widowed since October 2000 when her husband passed away. Despite her limited formal education, she devoted herself entirely to raising her five children. After her husband’s death, Charlotte faced many challenges, moving frequently with her children and sisters. In recent years, following gallbladder surgery, she required full-time care, which was provided at Hatley’s Health Care. However, her wish was always to be with her family, and her oldest daughter, Karen, fulfilled this wish by becoming her primary caregiver during the last year of her life.
Karen, who was widowed two years ago, took on the role of caregiver, sacrificing her own financial stability to care for her mother. To honor Charlotte’s memory and to support Karen in this difficult time, a GoFundMe fundraiser has been organized by Darlene Grasham. The fundraiser, titled "Honor Charlotte Byler: Aid for Karen’s Future," aims to help Karen recover from the financial strain caused by missing work to care for her mother.
So far, $100 of the $500 goal has been raised, with Britney Lawley making a generous donation of $100. The family has requested that instead of sending flowers, friends and loved ones consider contributing to this fundraiser to help Karen get back on her feet.
