On September 2nd, 2024, Cheri suffered a massive brain bleed and pons stroke, leading to her being found unresponsive. She was placed on life support and, despite awakening from her coma on September 4th, surgery was not possible, and palliative care discussions began. Cheri fought bravely until her final moments.
Cheri leaves behind a loving family, including her husband of nearly 50 years, Robert Dee Christensen, whom she married in 1975. Together, they raised three children, Jennifer Ann Christensen, Nika Marie Christensen, and Trevor James Christensen, and became proud grandparents to several grandchildren.
Known for her passion as a children’s librarian, Cheri was also a devoted Harry Potter fan, a love she celebrated with her family. Beyond her literary interests, she spent countless hours crafting handmade creations and was heavily involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren, supporting them through activities such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, PTA, and church events.
