Cheryl Dockter, Cass Lake, MN—Cheryl Dockter, a cherished mother and grandmother, is surrounded by her loved ones as she faces the final stages of her journey. Cheryl’s health took a devastating turn in mid-September when she was diagnosed with pneumonia, and shortly after, doctors discovered a 2-inch tumor in her left lung. As the days passed, the situation worsened when multiple brain tumors were detected, and it was confirmed that her lung cancer had metastasized throughout her body.
On October 1st, Cheryl’s family was informed that no treatment could improve or extend her quality of life. Cheryl, honoring her wishes, has been brought home on hospice care. Her daughters, Dawn and Cindy, alongside their families, are offering her the comfort and love she needs during this heartbreaking time.
A fundraiser, organized by her daughter Dawn Dockter, has been set up to help cover the substantial medical expenses incurred from Cheryl’s hospital stays, ambulance bills, and personal debt. Any remaining funds will go towards her granddaughters’ college education.
The community has rallied behind Cheryl, offering emotional and financial support. Donations have been pouring in, including heartfelt contributions from friends like Ashley Ballou-Bonnema, Elizabeth Dawson, Kelly Fasching, Jeane Nygaard, and Diane Nygaard.
We are all deeply saddened as Cheryl’s journey nears its end. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family during this incredibly difficult time.
