Chaz was a gentle giant with a beautiful smile and a deep love for the ocean, which he studied and cherished throughout his life.
Chaz attended Catholic School from grades 1-8, excelling academically as an honor student throughout his education. He later attended Florida Atlantic University, where he majored in Marine Biology, specializing in Cetology and Elasmobranchology, with a focus on sharks. His passion for marine life extended to his work as a certified open-water scuba diver with the National Association of Black Scuba Divers.
Throughout his life, Chaz had an impressive career working with companies like Microsoft, Apple, Verizon, and Tesla, known for his intellectual and analytical mind. Outside of his professional achievements, Chaz was a National Judo Champion, a brown belt, and an avid competitive swimmer. His love for aquatic life was matched only by his fear of tiny creatures like mayflies.
Chaz’s family, led by his Aunt Carletta Bryant, has organized a fundraiser to honor his memory with a Coral Reef Memorial. The memorial, a reflection of Chaz’s love for the ocean, involves mixing his cremated remains with marine-grade concrete to create a reef ball. This reef ball will be submerged onto the ocean floor, contributing to marine life conservation, a cause close to Chaz’s heart. Through this lasting tribute, Chaz will continue to be a part of the ocean he loved so much.
