Christopher James Gosse, Conception Bay South, NL—It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher James Gosse on August 9th, 2024, at the age of 39. Christopher, affectionately known as “GOOSE” to his friends and loved ones, was deeply cherished by his family and a large circle of friends.
Christopher was a devoted father to his children, Owen, Ava, and his stepdaughter Kierra, who he lovingly raised as his own since she was two years old. His loving partner, Amanda Wells, who is organizing a fundraiser to help cover funeral expenses and support his children, described him as the love of her life and a man with a big heart who was always ready to help anyone in need.
Christopher’s untimely passing has left a profound impact on his family, including his devoted mother Ida, stepfather Scott Goulding, father Colin Doherty (Brenda), and his brothers Greg (Mary) and Brad. He is also mourned by his stepbrother Shane (Kayla), step-grandparents Jerry and Cheryl, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who held him dear.
The community has begun to show their support through a GoFundMe fundraiser organized by Amanda Wells. So far, $50 CAD has been raised toward the $15,000 target. The first donation was made by William & Paris Wells, who contributed generously to honor Christopher’s memory.
Christopher will be forever missed by those who knew and loved him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his children, partner, family, and the countless friends he made throughout his life. The family expresses their gratitude to the Carbonear General Hospital, The Health Science Centre, and all the staff, nurses, and doctors who cared for him.
Visitation will take place at Hickey’s Funeral Home in Conception Bay South on Wednesday, August 14th, 2024, from 3-7 pm. The funeral service will be held at Hickey’s Memorial Chapel on Thursday, August 15th, 2024, at 10:30 am.
