Conner Dixon, Lethbridge, Alberta — The community is mourning the loss of Conner Dixon, who tragically passed away recently at the age of 28. Conner, who studied at Catholic Central High School and lived in Lethbridge, Alberta, was a loving partner and father, remembered for his hardworking nature and devotion to his family.
On July 1st, around 10 PM, Conner’s life was cut short when a car made an unsafe left-hand turn, leading to a fatal motorcycle accident. He leaves behind his partner Kiara, with whom he had been since she was 14, and their 5-year-old son, Rowan. Conner was dedicated to being part of all of Rowan’s milestones, and the family enjoyed many camping trips together.
Conner was the primary breadwinner, never hesitating to take on extra work to provide for his family. His sudden passing has left Kiara and Rowan in need of support to navigate this difficult time. A fundraiser organized by Karen McGarrigle, Conner’s aunt, has raised $1,710 out of a $5,000 goal to assist with rent, food, and monthly bills.
The community has shown an outpouring of support through heartfelt Facebook posts. Nate Smith expressed his gratitude for the videos Conner made, saying, "Get to relive our memories together. Rest easy brother Conner Dixon." Rhonda Bellows shared her anticipation to watch the videos just to hear Conner’s voice again, and Tyler Workman offered his condolences, stating, "Still doesn’t feel real." Many others, like Aaron Hayward, have extended their sympathies.
A Celebration of Life for Conner will be held, with the date yet to be decided. His memory will live on through the love and joy he shared with his family and friends.
