Daniel Rodriguez, Jamaica, NY— Daniel Rodriguez, affectionately known as JR, passed away on December 18, 2024, at the age of 69. JR was a devoted husband for over 45 years and a proud father who tragically lost his son just the previous year. He was well-known in his community for his kindness, always ready to lend a hand with repairs, chores, or simply sharing a friendly conversation during his daily walks with his dog.
A proud veteran and a proud Puerto Rican, JR was a true New Yorker who made lasting connections with those around him. Despite battling heart disease and undergoing a successful surgery in September, he faced severe complications in the months leading to his passing, including bleeding ulcers, organ failure, and strokes. Unfortunately, he passed away without life insurance, leaving his family with a significant financial burden for funeral and burial expenses.
A fundraiser has been set up by Renita Morin to assist with the family’s financial needs. To date, $250 has been raised out of the goal, thanks to the generosity of donors including Taisha Perez, William Credle, and an anonymous supporter.
JR’s generous spirit and loving nature have left a lasting impact on his family and the community. His passing has left a void, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
