Daniel Still, a beloved member of the Santa Maria, CA community, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of September 6, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was 71 years old. Dan led a vibrant life filled with adventure, devotion to his faith, and a deep love for his family and community.
Many in the Orcutt area will remember Dan from his Surf & Skate businesses, which were active from the 70s to the 90s. Through his business, he helped foster a passion for the surf and skate lifestyle, leaving an enduring mark on the community. Later in life, Dan owned and operated Coastline Painting and West Coast Painting, where he built many friendships and found fulfillment in the quality of his work.
Dan’s faith was central to his life. He served as an usher and was a key member of the prayer team at his local church. One of his favorite stories to share was how he regained his eyesight, a testimony to his strong belief in Christ. In his final days, Dan expressed immense gratitude for the life he had lived, reflecting on the richness of his experiences and the love he shared with his family and friends.
A celebration of Dan’s life will be held at Waller Park (site 9) on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 2:00–4:00 PM. The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a GoFundMe campaign set up to support his wife during this difficult time. The fundraiser, organized by Allison Pleshakov, has raised $550 of its $10,000 goal through the generous contributions of five donors, including Chris Parisi, Lizet Ramos, Kimberly Smith, Mike Pleshakov, and Melani Abercrombie.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Daniel Still’s family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this time of sorrow.
