Darrell Newton, Silver Springs, NV—A Community Mourns the Loss of a Beloved Husband

Darrell Newton of Silver Springs, NV, passed away on September 19th, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with cancer and cirrhosis of the liver. His wife, Teresa Newton, shared the heartbreaking news as she now seeks help to cover the costs of his cremation through a fundraiser she organized.

Darrell’s health challenges began in November of last year when he was diagnosed with two types of cancer and cirrhosis. Despite undergoing chemotherapy, which slowed the cancer’s progression, his condition worsened, and two weeks ago, he was told his liver was in stage 5 failure. After a period in the hospital, Darrell was sent home on hospice care. In his final week, he fought bravely for five days before passing away.

Teresa Newton expressed her deep gratitude to those who have already supported her during this difficult time, acknowledging the love and kindness that helped her through her husband’s illness. Unfortunately, without life insurance in place, she now faces the financial burden of covering his cremation expenses.

A GoFundMe page has been created, and contributions have already started to come in. Allan Taylor generously donated $100, while Joseph Kellogg and Danica Connors contributed $100 and $20, respectively. Teresa continues to ask for support, as any help, big or small, will make a meaningful difference in laying Darrell to rest.
