David Camp, Princeton, IL— David Camp has passed away following a tragic car accident on November 29, 2024. The Camp family, known for their close-knit bonds, is left heartbroken by the loss of a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend.
David was well-loved by everyone who knew him for his outgoing and larger-than-life personality. His passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of his wife Melinda and their children. Melinda and their son Michael were both seriously injured in the accident and are currently hospitalized in Rockford after being life-flighted from Ottawa. Fortunately, their daughter Lexee was discharged after a few hours of observation.
The community has rallied around the family, offering support through a fundraiser organized by Mackenzie Ott. The funds will help cover funeral expenses as well as medical bills for Melinda and Michael. The generosity shown by the community has been overwhelming, with over $900 raised so far to assist the family during this difficult time.
Melinda sustained significant injuries, including a broken bone in her neck, a fractured sternum, and broken ribs. Michael also faces a long recovery with a broken pelvis, lacerations to his liver and spleen, and fractures in his spine.
The loss of David will be felt deeply, not only by his family but by all who were touched by his kindness and friendship. The Camp family is in the thoughts and prayers of their community as they grieve and begin the healing process.
Our heartfelt prayers go out to the Camp family, and may they find strength and comfort during this sorrowful time.
