Dawn Rose of Gaytonwood Gundogs—Dawn Rose passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, leaving the community in deep sorrow. She was well-known worldwide for her dedication to Golden Retrievers and was a respected judge for the breed in many countries. Her expertise and passion for the dogs left a lasting impact on the lives of many people she met throughout her journey.

Dawn was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, but her resilience shone through as she faced every challenge with determination. Even during her battle with the illness, she remained optimistic and fully embraced life, involving herself in various activities. In recent years, Dawn found a new passion in horse racing, where she had shares in several syndicate horses. Her pride was evident as she enjoyed watching them train and race, celebrating each victory with enthusiasm.

Known for her warm smile, quick wit, and straightforward nature, Dawn made a lasting impression on everyone she met. At her request, there will be no funeral service, but a fundraiser has been set up in her memory by Mary Neil. The proceeds will be equally donated to two causes that were close to Dawn’s heart: the Berkshire Downs & Chilterns Golden Retriever Club Rescue and The Injured Jockey Club.

The community has begun showing support, with donations already coming in, including a contribution of £20 from Penny Penney. The love and kindness Dawn shared with the world will continue to be cherished by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
