Delmas Pie Yo Bonin, Saint Martinville, LA—The community of Saint Martinville is coming together as they brace for the expected passing of Delmas Pie Yo Bonin, a man who has touched the lives of many with his uplifting spirit and hard-working nature. Delmas, affectionately known as Pie Yo, has been in hospice care after a prolonged struggle with heart failure, with only 2% of his heart functioning. His pacemaker was turned off this morning, and he is now at home, surrounded by loved ones in his final days.

The Bonin family, facing the harsh reality of Delmas’s impending departure, has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support. Unfortunately, with no life insurance, the family is struggling to gather funds for his burial and funeral expenses. Doris Taylor, a close family member, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help cover these costs, with a goal of raising $9,000. So far, $80 has been raised from three donations, including contributions from Paula Smith, Darlene Bourque, and Junette Ledet.
