Denny Reese, Highland, IN— The community is in deep sorrow over the loss of Denny Reese, a cherished stepfather, and Navy veteran. Denny passed away recently, leaving his family to cope with unexpected financial burdens due to insufficient life insurance coverage.
Denny served in the Navy from 1970 to 1976, and his dedication to his country was well known among his friends and family. His step-son, Scott Gilmore, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the funeral costs and other expenses. The goal of the fundraiser is $9,000, but no donations have been made yet.
Scott Gilmore shared his heartfelt plea on social media, explaining, "Today the Lord took my stepfather Denny Reese, leaving my mother with some unexpected expenses. Both my mother and Denny were on a fixed income, and she has been in and out of the hospital over the last few months. The medical bills have now become overwhelming, and the little bit of life insurance he had isn’t enough to cover the funeral expenses. Any help is greatly appreciated in her time of need."
The community has shown their support through touching Facebook posts. Jordyn Gilmore, along with others, shared their condolences and memories of Denny. Jordyn mentioned, "If you can not donate, please share!"
We extend our deepest condolences to the family of Denny Reese. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.
