Donna Dillon Chavez, a cherished resident of Denver, CO, began her journey with the Lord on July 30th, 2024. She was born on December 27th, 1975, to Tellis Scott Dillon and Cynthia Kay Viall. Donna was the eldest of her siblings, often described as the "bossiest," but with a heart full of love that she generously shared with those around her.
Donna was known for her deep love of music, especially New Kids on the Block during her youth, with posters that covered her bedroom walls. As she grew older, her musical tastes expanded to include R&B and country, with Mc Magic and Jelly Roll being among her favorites.
She was a devoted mother to three wonderful children—William Chavez, Serenity Chavez, and Giovanni Dillon—who were the light of her life. Donna’s love extended to her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends, and she recently became a great aunt. She also held the special role of godmother to her cousin’s daughter, Aribella.
Donna was a hard worker, often juggling three jobs, and she was excited about the prospect of starting her own housecleaning business. Her clients are deeply saddened by her passing, reflecting the impact she had on those she served. Donna’s life was marked by the loss of many friends, which caused her great pain, but she always ensured their memories were honored through heartfelt funerals and annual remembrances.
Her passing leaves a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Victor and Lucy Zink, Bill and Betty Nelson, her father, Tellis Dillon, and her brother, David Dillon. Donna’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
A fundraiser organized by Bernadet Chavez is currently ongoing to help cover funeral expenses. So far, $275 has been raised out of a $1,000 goal, with contributions from Sara Evans, who donated $200 and $75 in separate donations.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Donna Dillon Chavez. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this difficult time.
